Welcome to Mini Explorers Travel

a place born out of a passion for travel and discovering the world.

My name is Sylwia, and I’ve always loved exploring new places. Ever since I was a child, I would eagerly count down the days until the next vacation — those memories of family trips remain some of my most precious ones. Today, as a mom to a four-year-old boy, I’m overjoyed to show him the world and create new adventures together. I’ve already organized dozens of trips — from spontaneous weekend getaways to multi-country journeys across the globe. I’ve visited nearly 50 countries on 5 continents, and the list of places I still want to see (and share with my family) keeps getting longer.

A Master of Travel Planning

A Master of Travel Planning

I love uncovering hidden gems, booking charming places to stay, and discovering local restaurants worth a visit.

Trip planning is my true passion — and something I’m genuinely good at.
Professionally, I’m a mechanical engineer with years of experience in industries such as aerospace and energy. This background has taught me precision, analysis, and coordination — skills that translate perfectly into organizing even the most complex and demanding journeys.

Born from a Passion for Travel and a Desire to Share It

✈️ Family exploring the world with our 4-year-old 🌍 Real tips, kid-friendly places & packing checklists 🎒 Travel tools & inspo for curious families
What is the best way to travel?

Backpacking? Luxury hotels? Road trips? Resorts?

This weekend we showed our Mexico photos to family… and apparently we travelled “the wrong way.”

“Only one ruin?”
“Hotels are not the real Mexico.”
“These cenotes are too touristy.”

And it really made me think…

There is so much pressure around travelling “the right way” — seeing more, doing more, experiencing things the “authentic” way. And honestly, a lot of it comes from Instagram too, where everything looks perfect: happy kids, perfect itineraries, all the “must-see” places.

But here’s the truth: there is no one right way to travel.

I will always encourage exploring, discovering local culture and going beyond the hotel — and that’s exactly the kind of inspiration you’ll find here. How to see and experience the world with your kids.

But resting by the pool with your family? That’s also a beautiful part of travel.

Because at the end of the day, it’s your time, your money and your vacation — and you get to choose how you spend it.

This place is probably not on your list… but it should be. Valladolid ended up being one of our favorite places in the Yucatán. We originally planned to stay one night — and ended up staying three because we liked it so much. It’s colorful, relaxed and feels very real. In the evenings people gather on the main square, kids run around, music plays somewhere in the background and life just happens around you. It doesn’t feel overly touristy — you actually get to see normal everyday life. The city itself is beautiful, full of colonial streets, local restaurants and small cafés. It’s the kind of place where you can just walk around with no plan and enjoy the atmosphere. We stayed at Posada San Juan, which was also a fantastic experience — a beautiful boutique hotel with an amazing atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. Valladolid is also a perfect base if you’re exploring the region. It’s very close to Chichén Itzá, and there are some incredible cenotes nearby. If you’re planning a Yucatán / Mexico trip, this town definitely deserves a stop on your itinerary. 📍Valladolid, Yucatán, Mexico Save this for your Mexico itinerary. Quick reminder for parents who love to travel ✨ You’re allowed to choose the hotel YOU like — not just the one with the biggest kids club. Somehow when people start travelling with kids, they feel like their only option is the biggest family resort with non-stop entertainment, animation teams and kids clubs everywhere. But family travel doesn’t have to look like that. You can still stay in beautiful hotels with great atmosphere — places that feel calm, stylish and inspiring, not only places designed entirely around children. 🌿 And the funny thing is… kids often don’t care about the fancy kids club as much as we think. A pool, a beach, some space to explore and time together is often more than enough. 🏝️ Family travel will be different than before, of course. But it doesn’t mean you have to give up the kind of places you love. You can still travel in a way that feels like you. ✈️ Let me know in the comments — what kind of hotels do you like when travelling with your kids? Save this as a reminder for your next trip. 💾 Share it with someone who thinks travel after kids only means all-inclusive resorts. And follow for more real, intentional family travel — soon I’ll share my favorite hotel recommendations for Mexico

Hidden lagoon near Tulum you need to save 🌿 Everyone talks about cenotes around Tulum, but this place feels different. Laguna Kaan Luum looks like a giant turquoise eye in the jungle — bright blue water in the middle and a shallow lagoon around it. What makes it special is how easy it is to visit, especially with kids. Instead of steep ladders or deep cave entrances like in many cenotes, here you get calm water, lots of space, and a long wooden pier where you can walk, sit and enjoy the view. It felt relaxed, quiet and surprisingly easy to spend a few hours here — one of our favorite stops during our Yucatán trip. Good to know before you go: • toilets on site • small restaurant with snacks & drinks • space to lay down your towel and relax • bring cash (cards often not accepted) • Google Maps doesn’t always lead perfectly — watch for road signs near the entrance We went in the middle of the day and it was calm and peaceful. 📍Laguna Kaan Luum, near Tulum, Mexico Save this spot for your Mexico trip, share it with someone planning Tulum and follow for more family travel spots. Have you visited any cenotes around Tulum yet?
